About Dr. Williams

Dr. Williams is a plastic surgeon in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  He offers a full range of reconstructive, breast, hand and skin cancer surgeries in addition to cosmetic surgery. He is based at the Halifax Infirmary, and is Head of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Dalhousie University.

A native Nova Scotian, Dr. Williams graduated from Acadia University in 1996 and attended Dalhousie Medical School, where he also completed his plastic surgery residency training.  He then received additional training in breast and other cancer reconstructions at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Returning to Halifax to start practice in 2006 he followed his passion for medical education by enrolling in and completing a Masters in Medical Education from the University of Cincinnati.  He served as Program Director for the plastic surgery residency program prior to assuming the role of Division Head.

Dr. Williams is co-lead of the Dalhousie Breast Surgery Program, Director of the Dalhousie Plastic Surgery Resident Aesthetic Clinic, and Plastic Surgery Fellowship Director. He is a voting member of the Royal College Specialty Committee for Plastic Surgery.

When not at work Dr. Williams is typically found with his wife and 4 young children.  He enjoys collecting wine, travelling, and watching the children play basketball, soccer and violin.
